*As of Tuesday, the Oregon Gulch Fire was at 82% containment.*

*A fire to the southwest of Shady Cove broke containment yesterday due to high winds and is heading toward housing and residences.*

*After the controversial reconstruction project of Ashland’s central plaza, new discussion has surfaced regarding continued improvements, including added planters, plants and fencing.*

*Those of us who have been excited about Ashland’s role in the book and movie “Wild” – where the author has a significant experience in Ashland just after Jerry Garcia’s death – will be interested to hear that a Seattle man has just broke the PCT speed record from Mexico to Canada in just over 53 days!*
