Taming of the Shrew
Shakespeare’s classic play about two sharp tongued people was directed by David Ivers in a clever rockabilly/seaside/retro girls style. Often these shows brought into the modern age with a fun concept are just that…fun style and nothing else. This was so much more! It feels like the play was always intended to be this style. Perfect! Elizabethans used the term shrew to describe both male and female…well, people who were jerks. The story focuses most of the action on scenes such as Petruchio denying his bride dinner.
